Diagnosis

We took Little A to see a neuropsychologist. He was really good with her and tested her without using speech, which was great!

Little A was pretty nervous. She had a lot of fidgety energy. We took a lot of breaks during the testing. He was very accommodating. My favorite part of the test was when he was testing her for ADHD. I was dying. Partly of laughter, and partly of anxiety because she couldn't pay attention, and I couldn't help her! She had to push a button every time she saw a light flash. Well, you may be able to imagine how well that will go for a child with ADHD (and really a 4 year old anyway, lol!) She pushed the button ALL.THE.TIME. While she was any which way in her chair.

Her official diagnosis is dyspraxia, sensory processing disorder, mild anxiety, and ADHD behaviors (because she's too young for an actual diagnosis of that).

The things to help are what we're already doing, Occupational and Speech therapy. I'm relieved that we're already doing what she needs.

We sure love our sweet girl! She is perfect in every way! She has her struggles (like all of us do) but she is so talented and has some really special gifts too. She is smart and learns things quickly. She loves to help people and is such a beautiful person!
